40 WEEKS!!

FULL TERM
WE MADE IT!

Since I am full term I know that labor and delivery is any time now.  I am a little anxious to experience the reality of the entire process but I am not nervous or scared.  Anthony and I have been debating on whether if we have the option of being induced, if we should or not.  My personal opinion is, since I am in good health and feel well, not to push nature. Let the baby come naturally and improve my chances on having a smooth labor.  On the other hand, since all our family is coming from out of town, I would love to have the baby on a day that all my loved ones could be apart of it with us.  We havent decided on what we want to do quite yet but its in the back of our minds.
Anthony's latest funny comment; "Have you had any of those Barrett-Jacksons yet??" I have tried to tell him its Braxton Hicks but it stuck.  He cracks me up!!! But to answer his question, No!  I havent had anything that I would think was a contraction or even a "barrett-jackson".  Which is ok with me.  I've been having a really hard time sleeping lately but Tylenol PM works great.
As for baby names- we have both a Boy and a Girl name picked out.  Seth Anthony Lancieri if its a boy and we are keeping the girl name a surprise!! So dont even ask!!
I am really going to miss being pregnant.  This has been such a wonderful and great experience.  Anthony and I are getting excited to meet our new little one and anticipating that overwhelming feeling of love we are going to get when we do.  Thank you to all my family for the encouragement and love throughout our pregnancy.

STAY TUNED..........BABY COMING SOON!!!!

Tidbits

My Petunia Pickle Bottom Diaper Bags

So let me explain!! I originally bought the one on the right through Destination Maternity, with a coupon that saved me $50.  Then, I signed up for the Petunia Pickle Bottom Outlet emailer and got a notice they were having a surprise sale that was for only 2 days. That is when I "just had to buy" the one on the left.  I also saved $50 on that one too.  So, THANKS A LOT MOM!!! I couldnt pass on the great deal.  In the end I got both diaper bags for the regular price of the first one.  Can you tell I got in a little trouble from Anthony for buying them, and now Im trying to explain myself?  Oh Well- they are soooo darn cute.  Plus- My mom paid for half as a baby shower gift. Thanks Mom- love ya!!

Here are the lil peanuts first outfits.  Anthony picked out both of these (cant you tell??). I think he is hoping for a boy even though he says he thinks its a girl.  Cute story- we were browsing the Baby Depot at Burlington Coat Factory (which is the best!!) and Anthony saw the outfit on the right and said "We have to get this!!"  I told him that would be perfect to bring the baby home in if its a boy.  You could tell he was so proud of himself for picking out the first outfit.  He even was upset that I had taken in out of the car before a Tahoe trip because he wanted all his family to see it.  The other one was a must.  Go Giants!!

Bennie still doesnt know what to think about the Swing/Bouncer.  His toy got thrown under it the other night and he was too scared to get it.  It took us 5 minutes of encouraging for him to finally get brave enough.

36 Weeks!

Getting really excited!! I still feel really great.  I had about 2 weeks that I kind of "hit the wall" or "lost it" but I got it back and now everything is going really well.  I just had to realize that I can't do everything like I used to, and slowing down really bothered me.  We are short staffed at work and its makes it a little more difficult as well.  Anthony and I enjoyed a day at Topaz Lake this weekend and I even rode the jet ski for about 10 minutes.  Once Anthony hit a wake and we bottomed out I told him I think it was time to go back to shore. He agreed!!
Back to the "losing it part"  Anthony has really really stepped it up at home.  He has always been a big help but lately he has been cooking the majority of the dinners and has been running a lot more of the errands that we have.  I just love him!!!  I have to give him a lot of credit for being such a great husband and really understanding.  Pregnancy has been really easy and enjoyable, so I was bound to have a rough few weeks.  RIGHT???

How your baby's growing:

Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of her first bowel movement.
At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.) Most likely she's in a head-down position. But if she isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an "external cephalic version," which is a fancy way of saying she'll try to coax your baby into a head-down position by manipulating her from the outside of your belly. http://www.babycenter.com/

34 Weeks!!

6 WEEKS TO GO!!

So, Im still feeling really great.  We got our carpets cleaned over 4th of July weekend.  EVERY cupboard and drawers and closet has been gone thru and cleaned and organized.  Now we are starting to open baby equipment.  We also celebrated our 1st anniversary this past weekend. This last year has gone by soooo fast and it has been one of the best years of my life.  We celebrated by watching our wedding video and cooking a nice dinner at home (shrimp skewers and mediteraenan salad) YUM!! It was a perfect anniversary.
I went to the doctor today and everything is coming along great. Blood pressure was perfect, baby's heart rate was 137, and uterine measurement is 32cm at 34 weeks (which is -2 but normal). I start getting checked for progress in 2 weeks.

How Far Along: 34 Weeks!!
Size of baby: Almost 5 lbs and 18 inches long
Total Weight Gained:  19 lbs.
Maternity Clothes: YES and I am in larger scrubs bottoms now.  My hips and ass are getting quite large. It better be true that they go back to normal.
Movement: A lot of movement and this little baby is strong.
What I miss: Breathing.  I get really short of breath and then get a little worked up.
Cravings: Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese- cut right off the block.
Aversions/Annoyances: Work, not anything in particualr just the fact that I have to be there.
Symptoms: My heals are starting to crack from the extra weight. Im going to have old lady feet soon.
Best Moment this week:  When Anthony asked me, "When does the baby open its eyes?" HAHAHA!! It still cracks me up.  He said he wasnt thinking and he knew that they were born with their eyes open but the fact that he asked was soooo cute!!

How your baby's growing
Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies. http://www.babycenter.com/

30 Weeks!!

Countdown!!
10

So far, I really am enjoying being pregnant.  I have been getting tired a little bit more lately, but I don't give in to not feeling 100%.  I think since I don't have a choice as to whether I can or can't go to work or get things done; I just do it.  I also think it helps staying active.  I have a 3 mile loop around my work that I walk 3 days a week. And I love prenatal yoga (they claim it helps with labor pains too- so we will see). Anthony has been such a huge help.  He takes the dog out in the middle of the night if he has to and also rubs my back if I'm having pains.  I got a good one!!!  This months Dr. visit was good; my uterus is measuring right at 30 weeks and blood pressure and weight is all good as well. Other than that I dont have anything exciting to report.

How Far Along: 30 Weeks + a few days!!
Size of baby: 15.7 inches & 3 lbs
Total Weight Gained:  16.4 lbs.
Maternity Clothes: YES!!
Movement: All the time! I think this baby is going to be big.
What I miss: Abdominal strength- I have none!!
Cravings: Watermelon
Aversions/Annoyances: Sitting too long really hurts my back.
Symptoms: Back Pain
Best Moment this week:  My Baby Shower!! Such a great time and I loved everything about it, I feel really loved.

How your baby's growing
Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)
